DM12 is a 12-week service commitment to communities impacted by natural disasters. This initiative is built on our 15 years of disaster relief experience, enabling us to safely restart volunteer operations in 2020.
The DM12 structure, with participants arriving/departing program and working on the same 12-week schedule, is designed to:
- increase safety for the people in the communities we serve, our volunteers and staff;
- mitigate COVID-19 risks by creating a group travel and work schedule, and planning our program forecast with more confidence;
- meaningfully support participants by managing their travel to/from program, covering their expenses and providing a training curriculum in disaster relief work.
Apply by Saturday, September 26th at midnight EST! We are now accepting DM12 volunteer applications for our Los Angeles COVID-19 Relief Program. DM12 participants will join us on program Monday, October 19, 2020 and finish the 12-week commitment on Friday, January 8, 2021.
This initiative will replace our regular volunteer application and acceptance process until we are safely and effectively able to mobilize and engage volunteers on an individual basis. You’ll find more information about our COVID-19 safety measures here.
