Myanmar Earthquake Relief
March 2025 – Ongoing
Last updated: June 2025
All Hands and Hearts deployed within hours of March 28’s devastating earthquake in Myanmar, partnering with trusted local groups to reach the hardest-hit communities. Through these efforts, we’re currently delivering direct cash assistance and essential supplies, such as shelter materials, hygiene kits and water filters, ensuring urgent aid reaches survivors quickly and effectively.

Our Work
All Hands and Hearts (AHAH) mobilized a response team in the days following a massive earthquake in Myanmar, committed to supporting response efforts where they’re needed most through trusted partnerships and targeted aid. We’ve built strong ties with community groups, churches and grassroots organizations inside Myanmar who are helping us reach those most affected. Through these local partners, we are providing direct cash assistance and procuring essential items such as shelter material, water filtration systems and hygiene kits—ensuring that critical aid is reaching survivors on the ground.
Current Activities
In the aftermath of the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar and neighboring countries, AHAH deployed to Thailand the following day to coordinate with trusted local partners and assess urgent needs. Working closely with organizations such as Chan Myae Myittar Development Association (CMMDA), IsraAID, and the Myanmar Red Cross Society, we reached approximately 4,400 individuals with clean water, shelter materials, clothing, hygiene kits and direct cash assistance in the first two weeks.
Many survivors remain in makeshift shelters, monasteries, or churches with limited access to electricity, clean water, or connectivity. Thanks to the dedication of local volunteers, essential supplies were distributed during Myanmar’s traditional Water Festival and New Year, bringing comfort during a time that is typically marked by celebration.
As we move from immediate relief to other scopes of recovery, AHAH is preparing to launch a comprehensive WASH program in partnership with CMMDA and IsraAID. This initiative will support 700 households by drilling boreholes for long-term water access, distributing water filtration systems and delivering hygiene education and psychosocial support to promote resilience and well-being.
Myanmar Earthquake
On March 28, 2025, a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck northwest of Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar, at a shallow depth of only six miles, amplifying its destructive impact. Just 12 minutes later, a 6.4-magnitude aftershock compounded the devastation. Reports now indicate nearly 4,000 lives lost, over 5,000 injured and hundreds more still missing.
The destructive tremors rippled across the region, with neighboring countries also impacted, Thailand among the hardest hit. In Bangkok, the earthquake caused the collapse of a 33-story building under construction, trapping nearly 100 workers beneath the rubble. To date, Thailand has reported 44 fatalities, 38 injuries and 78 people still missing.
