After almost 1,000 earthquakes struck Iceland this week, causing deep cracks in roads, local authorities are evacuating towns due to the likelihood of a volcano erupting. The nation’s southern peninsula is declaring a state of emergency and is evacuating the fishing town of Grindavík located an hour from Reykjavík, the capital city.
