Philippines Earthquake

This morning, the southern region of the Philippines experienced a 7.6 magnitude earthquake that was 20 miles in depth. This major quake resulted in ten aftershocks all over 5.0 magnitude, causing the coastal communities near Mindanao to brace for a potential tsunami. Our program team and volunteers supporting the Philippines Typhoon Relief program in the eastern region are safe and taking proper precautions. We will continue to monitor the earthquakes’ impacts, the expected aftershocks and the potential tsunami that threatens the country.
