Tropical Cyclone Mocha

Tropical Cyclone Mocha caused widespread damage across western and northern Myanmar and south-eastern Bangladesh. While assessments are still ongoing, recent reports indicate that there are more casualties than initially estimated.  

After making landfall in Myanmar and Bangladesh, Tropical Cyclone Mocha moved into northern Myanmar where it started to weaken and dissipate. At this time, All Hands and Hearts is not planning to launch a program in response to the damages of Tropical Cyclone Mocha.

Tropical Cyclone Mocha reached wind speeds equal to a category five hurricane and made landfall in Myanmar and Bangladesh. Reports of the impacts of the storm are still developing. All Hands and Hearts is closely monitoring to identify if this is an area in which we can leverage our disaster relief experience to provide aid. 

The National Disaster Management Centre in Myanmar has been activated and people living in low lying areas in Rakhine State have been advised to evacuate (GDACS). All Hands and Hearts is monitoring the situation as the storm develops.

Tropical Cyclone Mocha is moving towards western Myanmar and south-eastern Bangladesh. This storm has the potential to impact approximately three million people. All Hands and Hearts is closely monitoring the situation.

A new tropical cyclone, Mocha, has formed over the southern Bay of Bengal and started moving north-east toward western Myanmar according to the Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System. All Hands and Hearts is monitoring the storm as it develops.
