Tropical Storm Ana made landfall in Madagascar on January 24, 2022 before continuing through Mozambique, Malawi, and Zimbabwe with heavy rainfall causing severe flooding. While minimal damages have been reported in Zimbabwe, there are close to 400,000 people impacted in the other three countries.

Tropical Storm Ana made landfall in Madagascar on January 24 before heading west through Mozambique, Malawi, and Zimbabwe. Current reports say that there are 400,000 people impacted with a death toll of 70 and rising. Far more are displaced and in need of food, shelter, and WaSH support. States of disaster or emergency have been declared in both Malawi and Madagascar, and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), among others have mobilized to conduct in depth needs assessments and support with initial response efforts. All Hands and Hearts continues to monitor the situation.
