Alix joined All Hands and Hearts in early 2014 as a volunteer on our program responding to Supertyphoon Haiyan (Yolanda) in the Philippines. Having spent several years growing up in Asia, she felt helpless as she came across more and more stories and pictures from friends in the Philippines. While searching for a way to contribute, she came across All Hands and Hearts – and boarded a plane just a few weeks later.
What started as a short volunteer trip turned into over a year in the Philippines, as Alix transitioned from volunteer, to Base Manager, to Field Coordinator. She has since served on programs all over the world – and currently manages data and metrics across our organization.
Prior to joining the All Hands and Hearts team, she taught English in rural Thailand for a year with a non-profit and spent three years working for tech start-ups in the Boston area.
