Director of People and Learning
In 2015, Margaret was backpacking in Europe when the devastating earthquake on April 25th hit Nepal. With a month long stay in country already scheduled, she searched for a meaningful way to give back and found All Hands and Hearts. Immediately upon departure from the program, Margaret began looking for ways to remain engaged with the organization. After returning to the US, the organization’s first Global Service Fellowship program was announced. She applied to the GSF program and flew to the South Carolina Flood Response program to muck and gut flood damaged homes while waiting for an acceptance letter.
The Global Service Fellowship lasted nine months and took Margaret to programs in Michigan, South Carolina and Ecuador. This opportunity enabled her to observe, learn from and understand the needs of our staff members in the field and begin work on a training program. During 2017, Margaret moved to Massachusetts to assist the HR department at headquarters and continue to develop training.
She currently heads the HR department as the Director of People and Learning and aims to support the entire team throughout their time with All Hands and Hearts from on boarding to exit interviews.
Margaret holds a degree in Anthropology, resides in Denver and can often be spotted at parks or in the mountains with her German Shepherd, Armin.
