Rachel has been writing grants for All Hands and Hearts since 2013 and is an enthusiastic member of the Engagement Team. She is responsible for overseeing grant-related interactions with organizational funders such as public and private foundations, government agencies, and grant-making non-profits. Her work includes researching grant opportunities, proposal writing and reviewing, coordinating with field teams on grant compliance, grant reporting, and maintaining relationships with grantors through updates, meetings, and correspondence.
She contributes over a decade of non-profit experience knowledge gained through membership on a number of non-profit boards. She also brings her refined writing skills, honed during her time as a journalist in Russia during the 1990’s as well as her previous career as a lawyer.
Rachel received her Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law.
In her spare time, she enjoys attending the theater as often as possible, reading, and dancing. She also truly enjoys her visits to All Hands and Hearts programs – where she is able to witness the life-changing work of our amazing volunteers first-hand.
