Siobhan first volunteered with All Hands and Hearts in July 2015 on Project Leyte in the Philippines. Siobhan spent time volunteering on the Coastal Bend, Texas and St Thomas, US Virgin Islands programs between May and July 2018 before taking up the role of Volunteer Engagement Coordinator on the Sindhuli program in Nepal. Siobhan stayed on program in Nepal for six months before taking on her current role as Alumni Relations Manager, where she is responsible for keeping our incredible alumni connected with each other and engaged in the work we do.
Siobhan spent seven years working across mental health services in Scotland, England and New Zealand as: a Support Worker for people with intellectual disabilities; a Healthcare Assistant supporting nursing staff on forensic wards, eating disorder services and supporting older people in the community; a Trainee Mental Health Worker on an acute psychiatric assessment ward; and as part of a complex community care team and a Research Assistant for both Leeds and Napier Universities – exploring motivational factors which influence key health behaviours and piloting a pioneering diabetes intervention for people with intellectual disabilities.
Siobhan also spent seven years serving as part of the British Armed Forces Reserves as a Logistic Supply Specialist and a Military Intelligence Operator.
Siobhan studied Psychology at the University of Glasgow and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Practice from Middlesex University.
