Mike Ball

Director of International Recovery

Mike first found All Hands and Hearts in Pisco, Peru in 2008 and started the journey from volunteer to Director of International Recovery. When All Hands and Hearts left Peru to respond to disasters elsewhere Mike stayed in Pisco and helped to co-found Pisco Sin Fronteras, a volunteer-led organisation that focused on the recovery effort.

The experience in Peru sparked highlighted to him the importance of recovery, seeing first-hand the need in a community long after the immediate response and sparked a passion to try and support communities in their longer-term recovery process.

Mike has a background in Business Management and for many years would use work vacations to volunteer, on programs from Haiti to the Philippines. In May 2014, he joined the staff team to become the Program Director of the typhoon recovery program in Leyte, the Philippines, where he was integral to the development of our fund-raising and partnership model and subsequent longevity throughout the recovery process.

Today, he oversees International Recovery and brings a breadth of experience in strategic development, a good dose of British humour and his passion for rebuilding with the community.

Mike enjoys the great outdoors and is an avid rock climber. Mike lives in the UK with his wife Lauren and absolutely no cats.
