According to the Flood Forecasting & Warning Center (FFWC) report on 21 June, all the country’s major rivers are on a rising trend. The floods are reaching new districts and the situation in Kishoreganj, Bogra, Sirajganj and Tangail districts may deteriorate in next 24 hours as more heavy rainfall is expected. All Hands and Hearts continues to monitor the situation.
We are monitoring the impacts of heavy rains and flooding across Bangladesh and the Assam state of India which has impacted millions of people over the past week. Flooding is ongoing and there is a heavy focus now on emergency evacuation as well as basic needs such as food and water. The monsoon and rains started earlier than normal this year and are anticipated to continue and exacerbate effects. We are conducting a remote assessment to identify potential ways to support.
