Detroit Flooding

On June 26, 2021 heavy rainfall inundated Wayne and Oakland County in Southeast Michigan. The city of Detroit was one of the most heavily impacted areas seeing as much as 7” of rain within a 24 hour period. Southeast Michigan experienced widespread flooding, power outages, flooded roadways, flooded homes and displaced residents. For information regarding our work on the ground, visit the program page.

August 5, 2021 - 11:59 (EDT) - Update 3 – Final Update

U.S. Operations – We have established a base of operations near the center of Detroit provided by the Salvation Army and we’re looking to increase our workforce with an Americorps NCCC team that arrives early next week. We also continue to schedule out our Disaster Assessment and Response Team members so we can always at a minimum run 2 teams until September 3rd. July 29, 2021 - 11:04 (EDT) - Update 2

U.S. Operations – There is a high need for mold sanitation in the area. The Michigan Community Service Commission and the City of Detroit have asked All Hands and Hearts for assistance in gutting and mold sanitation operations.

Southeast Michigan experienced widespread flooding, power outages, flooded roadways, flooded homes and displaced residents.
