Gansu Earthquake

A strong, shallow earthquake struck China’s Gansu and Qinhai provinces just before midnight on Monday. Initial reports have identified 118 casualties, with over 200 people injured. Search and rescue is in full force as the local high-altitude and low temperatures present dangerous conditions. There is the possibility of aftershocks and landslides in the coming days.
