Tropical Cyclone Gamane landed in Madagascar on March 27, bringing winds of 93 mph, gusts of 130 mph and heavy rains, resulting in devastating waist-deep flooding, downed trees and fallen bridges. The country’s Vohemar district was most notably affected. Reports have detailed eleven casualties, 7,000 people injured, over 35,000 people affected, as well as 6,000 homes submerged and another 600 destroyed.
