In the early hours of Monday, February 6, 2023, a shallow earthquake at only 11 miles deep shook southeastern Türkiye and neighboring Syria. Not long after, another earthquake struck the same area. This is an event of historic proportions which requires massive levels of international aid.

February 15, 2023 - 13:00 (EST) - Update 9

DART has been on the ground in Türkiye (Turkey) since Tuesday, January 7. We are actively engaging with local and international partners to respond to critical and immediate needs while also identifying the most vulnerable areas for our disaster relief teams to set a base and start inviting global volunteers to support. Apply to volunteer and keep updated with our current actions on the ground on our Türkiye Earthquake Relief program page or through our real time updates on Instagram and Twitter.

February 10, 2023 - 17:00 (EST) - Update 8

The last members of our initial DART arrived today, rounding our team out with a total of six members. The team is finishing safety, wellness, medical and media briefings while coordinating logistics and preparation of emergency supplies. We’ve scheduled meetings with numerous organizations as we move closer to the earthquake’s epicenter and the more heavily affected areas. Our Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) continues to grow as we bring together experienced team members from around the world. February 8, 2023 - 10:00 (EST) - Update 6

One team member spoke with AFAD, the Ministry of Interior Disaster and Emergency Management within Türkiye, who have confirmed that access to the affected areas is still very limited and open only to first responders. All Hands and Hearts works closely with other organizations within the disaster relief space to identify the areas in which our expertise can be utilized to maximize our impact. February 8, 2023 - 7:00 (EST) - Update 5

We’ve connected with two local All Hands and Hearts volunteers joining our initial Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) that immediately began helping with logistics within Türkiye. The DART spoke with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), part of the United Nations, and connected with the local shelter cluster. Just days after these catastrophic earthquakes, our work has already begun. Support affected communities today.

Our Global Response Manager has arrived in Türkiye, our first boots in the country to determine how we can best assist the affected communities.

Our Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) is on the way to Türkiye (Turkey) to identify areas in which All Hands and Hearts can leverage our disaster relief experience to provide aid to those affected by the Kahramanmaraş earthquake. Support our team by donating today.

As more information is available, it has become clear that All Hands and Hearts can assist. All Hands and Hearts is responding to the intense earthquakes from earlier today.

February 6, 2023 - 7:00 (EST) - Update 1

A massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southeastern Türkiye (Turkey) and Syria this morning at 4:17 local time followed by a 7.5 magnitude earthquake shortly after. These earthquakes were shallow, at 11 and 6.2 miles respectively. Initial reports have indicated 1385 have died and thousands more injured. All Hands and Hearts is monitoring the situation.
